Before we get active in the morning we take time remember why we are grateful for life.

Time & Love

Before my first arrest at 19 years old, I recall this older Mexican gentleman, who was working at Parks and Recs for the City of Phoenix, walking up to me and two of my friends while we sat and talked. He walked up and pulled out this little Bible and my boys immediately walked away and laughed and told me to come on. He sat down and looked square in my eyes and asked me what I was doing with my life. I told him, "I'm just chillin I guess, trying to stay out of trouble." He asked me, "Why are you trying to stay out of trouble and why aren't you in school?" I didn't have an answer and I remember smiling at him. This little old man, what was his angle, I thought. He opened his Bible and read a verse to me, "You will search for me and find me when you search for me with all your heart." He put his Bible down and told me, "You don't have to remain lost. You can search for the answers your looking for instead of looking to do wrong." He shook my hand and walked away. The next evening, I was arrested, and wouldn't be released for another 5 years. I've never met that man since, but I try to pass onto others what he blessed me with that day. Time and Love.
